Carnival Corporation Fuel SurchargeCarnival Corporation announced on November 7, 2007 that they would be implementing a fuel surcharge on all passengers sailing on 6 of their cruise brands.
This surcharge will amount to $5 and will be charged on a per-day, per-passenger basis. However, the charge will apply only to the first two passengers in a stateroom and will be capped at $70 per person for a given voyage. It will be assesed on reservations for sailings beginning on February 1, 2008 on Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line, Princess Cruises, Cunard Line, Costa Cruises and Seabourn.
In their annoucement, Carnival stated that their fuel costs have risen 140% over the past 3 years.
